Benefits of Combining Blepharoplasty and Brow Lift surgery

From excitement and satisfaction to anger and displeasure, the eyes and forehead work together to convey a wide range of emotions. When we’re young, we can easily control the expression of these emotions in the exact moment we feel them. Over time, however, the various effects of aging we experience can cause us to look one way when we actually feel completely differently. For example, a drooping brow, “hooding” of skin at the corners of the eyes, bags below the eyes, and various other aging symptoms can often create an irritated and exhausted appearance for individuals who are actually quite happy and well-rested.

Due to this close relationship between the eyes and forehead, addressing both regions at the same time will usually produce a more comprehensive—and generally more natural-looking—cosmetic enhancement for women and men seeking to rejuvenate one area or the other. To do this, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and brow lift surgery (forehead lift) can often be performed simultaneously, helping to treat most, if not all, signs of aging in the upper third of the face.

If you are interested in treating aesthetic concerns in the forehead and/or eye region, I encourage you to consult with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Following a physical exam and thorough review of your cosmetic goals, your surgeon will be able to determine if a brow lift, eyelid surgery, or a combination of both techniques would be most beneficial for your unique needs and desires.
