The Art of Liquid Facelift

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical procedure using injectable dermal fillers to smooth and contour the sagging or hollowed areas which are signs of aging. Our injection team treats each patient individually, and specific fillers can be used to volumize, “lift”, and augment the tissues to turn shadows into highlights. A liquid facelift does not replace what can be accomplished surgically with a rhytidectomy (facelift), but immediate transformations can truly be accomplished with minimal downtime while enjoying long-lasting natural results.

The Technique

During a consultation with Dr. Shadfar or our injection team, the type and amount of filler needed, as well as the sites of injection are evaluated. Fillers can be injected in the office with topical anesthetic cream, however, most patients do not require any anesthetic. Similar to other filler injections, our team makes use of delicate microcannulas to thread and layer the injectable dermal fillers into the exact plane within the areas of concern. This technique provides less swelling, bruising, and pain for patients so they can benefit from a quicker recovery.

The Recovery

Following injection of dermal fillers, patients are free to go about their day with little to no restrictions. A cool compress is provided to patients, and can be used for the first day after injection. Patients will notice swelling around the site of each injection with some redness that fades by that evening. Infrequently, patients may experience bruising following injections. The effects of the injections are immediate, and patients can expect to see their final results by day 2-3.
